"Once again, Mandie is the savior....of my phone." *disappointed look from me* "Well, not of the WORLD! You aren't Jesus!" --Marty
Sometimes all it takes is for someone with the right kind of phone (and thus, charger) to be in the room to warrant a 'you just saved my day' comment. Besides the bonus that I get free texting with anyone who has verizon, another upside is that most verizon phones have the same charger. This past Saturday I saved the day for Marty's phone by loaning him my charger (which, though we don't have the same phone, works because they are both verizon). I am usually one that slightly over exaggerates for effect--Marty, however, can be brutally honest; thus, in this case, destroying my god-complex. Which was probably good for me.

"Look with Edison at his deafness, with Milton at his blindness, with Bunyan at his imprisonment, and see how patience converted these very misfortunes into good fortunes.
Michaelangelo went to Rome to carve statues, and found that other artists had taken over all the Carrara marble--all but one crooked and misshapen piece. He sat down before this and studied with infinite patience its very limitations, until he found that by bending the head of a statue here, and lifting its arms there, he could create a masterpiece: thus, The Boy David was produced.
Let us sit down in front of our very .limitations, and with the aid of patience dare to produce, with God's help, a masterpiece!" --Springs in the Valley

"When meeting people from a foreign culture, offer a few gifts that reflect your interests as a gesture of friendship. Better yet, give things you've created yourself. Also, explore thier interests and their culture. Ultimately, the best way to forge a lasting friendship is to create something together. Whether it's a meal, an art project or a spontaneous dance party, when you create something with others, you build a connection that lasts a lifetime." --the International Diplomacy Guide

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She's loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect, you aren't either & the two of you may never be perfect together. But if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking of you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break: her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there." — Bob Marley

"People often complain that music is too ambiguous, that what they should think when they hear it is so unclear, whereas everyone understands words. With me, it is exactly the opposite, and not only with regard to an entire speech but also with individual words. These too seem to me so ambiguous, so vague, so easily misunderstood in comparison to genuine music, which fills the soul with a thousand things better than words."
--Felix Mendelssohn
Today is a momentous occasion for me--I'm giving my junior recital. Today is the day I've been working towards my whole college career. Today is a day for making music.

"If you ask us, it's no coincidence that 'morning' and 'mourning' are only one letter apart. Okay sure, there are a few good things about mornings (we're looking at you, pancakes). Otherwise, forget it. Not only does a 15 minute snooze pass in what feels like a blink, but let's be honest, the sound of birds chirping is a bit overrated. So to help give your morning some nutrition, we've added [a whole bunch of vitamins and such]. We think it'll brighten your day. But don't worry, not rip-open-your-curtains-with-no-warning kind of brighter." --off the Vitamin Water bottle.
I'm a big fan of vitamin water, but I don't habitually drink it because it's expensive. Well, in honor of me having a crazy Tuesday schedule, I've invested in enough that I can have one on Tuesdays, just to help me through. This quote was from the side of today's bottle. Normally, I enjoy mornings, but on Tuesdays I don't, because mornings mean a really early start to a long day: class from 8:30am to 9:40pm (with one two hour break in the afternoon and forty minutes for dinner). So, thank you, Vitamin Water, for getting me through Tuesdays.
